Hibiscus flowers come in many colours. They can be red, yellow, white, or peach-coloured, and can be as big as 6 inches wide. Brightly coloured flowers of hibiscus are a rich source of natural dyes that are used in the food industry. Women in China use dyes extracted from hibiscus flowers to dye their eyebrows and hair. A paste made of crushed hibiscus leaves and flowers can be used as a home-made shampoo. The most popular beverage made of hibiscus is tea (made of dry flowers). Besides pleasant taste, tea made of hibiscus represents a rich source of vitamin C.
